PADI 5-Star Career Development Center & Dive Resort

For nearly 35 years, Emerald Coast Scuba has proudly served the Gulf Coast as a family-owned dive center. Anna and Tom Schmitz, a dynamic duo sister and brother own and operate with a focus of keeping Emerald Coast SCUBA family focused. Anna, certified as a Course Director in 1989, is the brains behind our SCUBA operations and has influnced our teaching style and enjoys a Purple Reign at the end of a hot Destin day! Tom is our Engineer / Boat Captain / we break it - he fixes it! Tom enjoys a COLD Bud Light, after fixing all our problems! We provide SCUBA training, Swim instruction, Dive charters, and a Full-service retail dive shop for all experience levels. Stop by and share a cold brew or Coca-Cola and share some dive adventures!

We also have 2 other Course Directors on staff. Dylan Woodbridge and Jocelyn Collins.

Training for All Levels

We offer SCUBA adventures from beginner through professional certifications, including Enriched Air (EANx) and spearfishing. We also are a certified Swim Academy and offer lessons from beginner to advanced, 6 months to 101, including Open Water Swimming.

Our facility features a 14-foot-deep heated training pool and spacious classrooms for year-round instruction.

Daily Dive Charters

In Spring, Summer and Fall, we run daily charters aboard our three USCG-rated vessels, docked less than one mile from our shop for easy access to Gulf reefs and wrecks.

Full-Service Dive Center

Our 5,000 sq. ft. retail store offers scuba and snorkel gear sales, rentals, certified clean air fills, EANx fills, and professional equipment service.

Licensed & Veteran Approved

We are licensed by the Commission for Independent Education, Florida Department of Education (License #2270) and are approved for VA Education Benefits, including the Post-9/11 GI Bill®.
